MAN BIRDVIEW: 360° CAMERA SYSTEM

MAN BirdView provides you with a 360° bird's eye view of the immediate vicinity of your vehicle - including all blind spots.

Four HD cameras with fish-eye lenses mounted on the outside of your vehicle transfer their images to the 7-inch colour screen in the cockpit. Thanks to the comprehensive all-round view of the multi-camera systems, you can see other traffic or obstacles, thereby minimizing the risk when turning or manoeuvring.

MAN BirdView activates automatically. The view of the surroundings (front, sides, rear) on your monitor changes depending on the situation. The system takes into account the current speed, activation of an indicator or the gear selection, among other things.

The monitor gives you an optimal overview in every driving situation, allowing you to manoeuvre with centimetre precision and turn safely.

With the optionally available recorder it is also possible to document the images delivered by your MAN BirdView camera, for example for later damage analysis.

Packed full of intelligent technologies: Standard or optional safety systems make sure that you always have control over your MAN even during critical situations.

Electronic Stability Control (ESP)

A wet road surface, snowy roads, a sudden evasive manoeuvre - there are many reasons why a truck may swerve or even tip over. Your MAN actively supports the driver in mastering hazardous situations via the Electronic Stability Control (ESP):

An optical warning signal indicates the system has been triggered. At the same time, the electronic stability program carries out countermeasures and activates the Electronic Braking System (EBS) with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control System (ASR) functions.

During fast cornering the Dynamic Stability Program (DSP) prevents understeer or oversteer through applying automatic targeted braking to individual wheels. The Rollover Prevention (ROP) integrated within the electronic stability program also significantly limits the risk of tipping.

Continuous Damping Control (CDC)

A rapid lane change, a sharp bend or a heavy braking manoeuvre could cause your truck to start weaving. The Continuous Damping Control (CDC) activates the right amount of damping to stabilize the truck and prevent weaving.

Digital axle load display

Every kilogram counts. But loading your truck as safely and economically as possible does not have to be a logistic masterpiece. Thanks to our digital axle load display, you have an overview of the weight distribution of your load at all times. Not only does this mean that you can optimize the load across the axles. It also means you can reliably avoid overloading the vehicle - without time-consuming weighing.

And this is how the digital axle load display works: The pressure sensors in the system detect the bellows pressure on every air-sprung axle. From the measured air pressures, the control unit then determines the weight distribution across the individual axles.

The timelessly elegant, perfectly coordinated colour scheme guarantees an exceptional ambience, whilst the abundance of light and fresh air, and the overall premium quality of the interior create an exceptional feel-good atmosphere.

The indirect ceiling lighting with its continuous LED light strip fills the entire ceiling area of the MAN Lion’s Coach with indirect, warm white light, both during the day and at night. Plus, the windows and glass roof hatch with UV filtration let in natural light, brightening up the passenger area no end.

Our fully automated air-conditioning system, installed as standard, controls the temperature throughout the journey. Depending on the weather outside, the passenger area can be heated to a pleasant temperature or cooled down to refresh everyone on board. The air-conditioning system also pumps a continual supply of fresh air into the interior.

Passengers on board a MAN long-haul coach are sure to have a pleasant journey. All of the fittings have been designed and installed to ensure that there is maximum freedom to move around throughout the passenger area. The design gives a spacious, airy feel to the coach.

Travel comfort

In developing the MAN Lion’s Coach, we paid special attention to the design of the seats – each spot impresses passengers with its levels of overall comfort. Passengers can sit back and relax even on longer journeys thanks to the ergonomic nature of the seating. All of the seats have adjustable headrests and plenty of legroom for an unbeatably pleasant journey.

Passengers have the option of reclining their seats a little and making use of the folding table on the back of the seat in front of them, which comes complete with a cup holder. As part of the standard comfort package for each seat, a service set is also positioned overhead. Every passenger has a built-in LED reading light, adjustable air vents, speakers and service buttons.
