Economical
Electric trucks have lower variable operating costs than comparable diesel trucks and, depending on the individual circumstances, the total cost of ownership can reach parity in as little as four years.
Reliable
eTrucks provide the high-voltage batteries with the very best protection in the event of an accident. What’s more, the batteries are monitored and have an emergency shut-off.
Environmentally friendly and silent
Electric trucks are not just free of CO2 and pollutants – the noise emissions are also significantly lower than diesel trucks.
The new MAN electric trucks are here: MAN is simplifying your journey towards electrification with its most environmentally friendly and intelligent vehicles to date. In addition to an emission-free driveline and a daily range of up to 800 kilometres, the new generation of MAN eTrucks offer excellent handling and simple operation. What’s more, MAN is opening the door to the future of an intelligently connected e-mobility ecosystem, which supports you with your daily work using digital solutions.

When it comes to charging an eTruck, there are two options: the private infrastructure at your company site or public charging facilities. In both cases, MAN works together with renowned partners such as ABB, Heliox and SBRS.
They provide charging solutions across Europe tailored to the respective system. The Combined Charging System (CCS) charges with up to 375 kW, while the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), which is connected to the electric truck’s cooling system, supplies up to 750 kW.
When the eTruck is parked on your company site overnight, you can easily completely recharge it. However, if the electric truck needs to cover long distances and you need to rely on public charging facilities, there is a useful tool: MAN SmartRoute simplifies route planning for the new MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS – and gives you the confidence to trust the electric range.
Charging capacity | Approximate charging times in minutes depending on battery configuration | System |
---|---|---|
200 A (150 kW) | 115 – 230 minutes | Combined Charging (CCS) |
335 A (250 kW) | Approx. 40 minutes | Combined Charging (CCS) |
500 A (320 kW) | Approx. 40 minutes | Combined Charging (CCS) |
670 A (approx. 500 kW) | Approx. 45 minutes | Megawatt Charging (MCS) |
835 A (approx. 625 kW) | Approx. 45 minutes | Megawatt Charging (MCS) |
1,000 A (approx. 750 kW) | Approx. 45 minutes | Megawatt Charging (MCS) |
The future of the transportation industry is electric – and digital, of course. That’s why many of the digital services available for conventional trucks can also be used with the new MAN eTrucks. MAN also provides additional digital solutions for its electric trucks, which are tailored to electric vehicles: MAN eManager and MAN SmartRoute.
The digital MAN eManager service enables comprehensive charging management as well as vehicle and battery monitoring for your entire MAN electric truck fleet. The fleet management team is informed directly of low ranges or charging failures. Battery temperatures are monitored and the fleet manager is warned if there is a danger of overheating. The battery charging process is intelligently controlled. The vehicle is brought to the right temperature during the charging process, saving energy during the journey. Two versions of MAN eManager are available:
MAN eManager S
Efficient control of the charging process for an individual MAN eTruck or the entire fleet
Timer mode: Set when the electric truck needs to be fully charged – MAN eManager will do the rest
Real-time overview of the progress of the charging process, the potential range with the current battery status and the time when the truck will be fully charged
MAN eManager M
All MAN eManager S functions
Determine battery-related performance indicators regarding temperature, voltage and charging/discharge current
Display the remaining battery capacity in kWh for all charge levels
Status overview of the entire MAN eTruck fleet including information on driving status
MAN SmartRoute – for fleet managers and drivers – simplifies route planning for your new MAN eTruck fleet and supports you with effectively planning top-up charges along the route so that drivers can successfully complete their journeys. The following parameters are considered:
Battery charge status and remaining journey
Traffic (e.g. congestion, accidents, roadworks)
Infrastructure (e.g. charging stations, rest stops)
Topography (e.g. mountains)
Weather
Commercial vehicle restrictions (e.g. load)
Driving job (e.g. route, customer stops)
Time required (e.g. driving times, charging times)
Driving times and rest times
Simplified and reliable route planning for your MAN eTruck fleet
Dynamic route suggestions based on individual parameters such as charge level, energy consumption, remaining journey, charging infrastructure, charging time, etc.
Display charging points suitable for eTrucks and plan top-up charging along the route
Route sent from the RIO platform to the MAN multimedia system in the vehicle
The content shown will be available in full from the MAN eTrucks series launch.
In addition to the services specifically for electric trucks, there are also lots of other digital services that you can use with a MAN eTruck, such as MAN Now, the MAN Driver App or Perform.
Planning to purchase an all-electric truck – but you want to make sure the vehicle’s range is sufficient for your application? Just use our MAN eReadyCheck: it shows – based on selectable parameters – which MAN eVehicles are the perfect fit for your usage behaviour.
An efficient service network is absolutely critical for both conventional trucks and the new MAN electric trucks. To ensure that downtimes for the new eTrucks are kept to a minimum, MAN is preparing its service network for e-mobility technology. We have an ambitious goal for this transformation: By the start of production for the eTrucks, we anticipate that 70% of all MAN’s own service outlets across Europe will be qualified and audited to serve eTrucks. We plan to be completely e-ready by 2028.
With MAN ServiceCare preventive, digital maintenance and repair management, you always have an eye on the maintenance status of your MAN eTruck fleet. In order to reduce workshop visits and downtime, maintenance and vehicle data are transferred from your electric truck to MAN ServiceCare. You can choose between different service packages depending on your individual requirements:
With the free MAN ServiceCare S service, your preferred MAN service outlet proactively coordinates and bundles maintenance appointments for your MAN electric truck. In the event of a breakdown, the nearest MAN service outlet can review relevant vehicle details and provide you with even more targeted support thanks to remote diagnostics.
In addition to the MAN ServiceCare S services, MAN ServiceCare M offers you further functions for even more individual maintenance and repair management of your MAN eTruck fleet. Thanks to the extended system access and comprehensive maintenance information, you can view the status of individual components in detail. For example, the health status of your high-voltage battery packs in your MAN electric truck is displayed as a percentage. What’s more, you can manage your own components and vehicles from other manufacturers (FMS data). You decide which maintenance tasks to perform yourself and which to outsource to a MAN service outlet.
Unexpected repair costs or vehicle breakdowns are among the risks in the commercial vehicle sector – that's true for electric trucks as well. MAN service contracts help to keep expenses predictable for your company: thanks to a range of services which includes all service work and a scope of services which can be extended individually.
Our MAN service outlets provide professional care for MAN eTrucks across Europe. This means that you can focus entirely on your core business.
Wherever your MAN eTruck may be: with the MAN uptime guarantee, MAN ensures every eTruck fleet is always ready to go. The MAN uptime guarantee for electric trucks ensures that you stay mobile in more than 30 European countries. If you suffer a technical failure, we’ll make sure you’re back on the road again in no time or will compensate you for the downtime .

The purchase price of an electric truck is higher than that of a diesel one. However, you always have to put the high up-front costs in perspective, as an electric truck really comes into its own in the long run with significantly lower variable operating costs. This is where the lower energy and service costs, the carbon tax and toll charges, as well as state subsidies play a major role – as you can see with the example in the table below. Depending on your individual circumstances, you can achieve TCO parity with a MAN eTruck in as little as four years.
Plus, MAN is on-hand to offer advice and support on finance options to help with the high initial costs and setting up the internal company infrastructure.
